Share Your Stories With the World: Victorian public libraries and the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals
Public libraries are highly regarded institutions and leaders in the community, with significant influence on local government. The purpose of this report is to support leaders in the Victorian library sector to leverage their relationship with local government and policy makers; and to share their stories and contribute to federal reporting on the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Policies and Procedures in Australian School Library Resource Centres: Template
A template document for the Manual for developing policies and procedures for Australian school library resource centres that can be used to update or prepare your own school library copy. Its aim is to develop the policies and document the procedures that are essential for exemplary management practices. The implementation of these policies and procedures will ensure that there is equitable access to resources for all users.
Interlibrary Resource Sharing Best Practice Guidelines
As part of the Interlibrary Resource Sharing Code (ILRS) code review the ALIA ILL Advisory Committee revises its Best Practice Guidelines in 2019. The Best Practice Guidelines are intended to work with the ILRS Code. They provide further information on streamlining work practices or ensuring good communication with resource sharing partners.
Creative industry letter to the Prime Minister, ministers and lord mayors on COVID-19 action
Open letter published on Thursday 26 March 2020 petitions Prime Minister, The Hon Scott Morrison MP, and Deputy Prime Minister, The Hon Michael McCormack MP to provide additional support to creative industries in Australia in response to impacts of COVID-19.
ALIA Student Award
The Association provides an award to recognise the highest achieving graduating student in every ALIA Accredited librarianship and library technician course, as a means of rewarding excellence.
Educators should complete the application form four weeks before a graduation ceremony or conferring in absentia and email it to [email protected].
