Australian Interlibrary Resource Sharing (ILRS) Code
The ILRS Code has been endorsed by the Australia Library Peak bodies including Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA), National and State Libraries Australia (NSLA), the Council of Australian University Librarians (CAUL) and the National Library of Australia.
Committees and groups review
ALIA groups and committees are an essential part of the life of the Association and the LIS sector in Australia. Groups and committees are run by energetic and committed volunteer ALIA members who generously give their time to create active and vibrant professional networks that contribute to the sector in a variety of ways, from running professional learning and social events through to the creation of sector standards and the provision of advice to the ALIA Board.
Supplementary Submission: Public, Educational and Digital Lending Rights
This supplementary submission is made to the Standing Committee on Communications and the Arts in regards Australia’s lending rights schemes. This short submission clarifies comments made about public and educational lending rights at the hearing on 13 November 2020, including the importance of supplementing the existing lending to cover Australian ebooks and audiobooks collected and loaned by Australia’s libraries.
ALIA Silver Pin
The ALIA Silver Pin is available to personal member who has served a minimum of five terms (five years) or more on ALIA group committees (including special interest groups, ALIA Board advisory groups, ALIA conference committees, or as the ALIA representative on external committees) or any ALIA Member who has made a significant contribution the Association, considered to be the equivalent of a five-year commitment.
This document is an application form for nomination or self-nomination for receival of the ALIA Silver Pin.
Interlibrary Resource Sharing Best Practice Guidelines
As part of the Interlibrary Resource Sharing Code (ILRS) code review the ALIA ILL Advisory Committee revises its Best Practice Guidelines in 2019. The Best Practice Guidelines are intended to work with the ILRS Code. They provide further information on streamlining work practices or ensuring good communication with resource sharing partners.
